Up for sale here is button down shirt from 45 rpm. This comes from their “dash” line, one of their premium collections done entirely in organic cotton. 45 rpm products never come cheap at retail. They’re produced in very small batches with a high level of workmanship involved. You can only find them at their own shops, of which there are just a handful outside of Japan. Once the premium pieces like these are gone, they don’t come back. You don’t come across the dash line very often, because usually when people have it they hang onto it.
The shirt comes in a medium weight knit cotton, similar to a light flannel in my opinion. The main body of the material is done in a solid gray knit, while the interior shoulders and cuffs are lined in a light weight indigo dyed denim chambray. The shirt has 45 rpm’s tag denoting that this is an indigo dyed product, but I am not entirely sure if the indigo portion is meant to apply only to the lining or if the whole shirt incorporates some amount of indigo dye. I personally think it is more related to the lining.
Nonetheless, if 45 rpm is anything they are crazy about the materials they use, and this shirt does not disappoint. The knit is nicely textured, very soft and very comfortable. Details include the aforementioned chambray lining, additional lines of thread added to the cuff interiors making for a nice contrast. Tag is embroidered, while the same dash logo is embroidered on the side of the chest pocket. In addition to the chest pocket there is also a large pocket on the interior.
Size is labeled a 4 and fits a large well. I measure the chest at 23”, shoulders at 20”, length at 27” in front and 29” in back, and sleeves at 23” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or obvious signs of wear. Like the best workwear, this shirt is built tough and should last you. Made in Japan.
