Up for sale here is a pair of pants from the 45 rpm label. 45 rpm are perhaps best known for their indigo products, although they produce a full line of some of the nicest stuff out there. Their attention to detail, particularly in regard to their fabrics, is second to none. Few labels out there have better fabrics, and 45 rpm always like to incorporate a lot of interesting details on top of it.
The main material with these pants is a blue cotton flannel. Flannel is normally a fabric you see incorporated into shirting, where it is known for its weave and heavy weight. 45 rpm have opted for a heavy cotton flannel pair of pants in this case, done in a solid blue. Material is heavier than your standard cotton, somewhat similar to a cotton moleskin fabric but not quite as impermeable to wind and more highly textured. Being a heavy weight, these pants are good for fall-winter-spring wear.
Material aside, these pants have the usual high attention to detail you would expect from 45 rpm. Waistband is lined in an indigo dyed cotton chambray fabric, with white cotton canvas pockets. It is a bit difficult to see, but hand stitching lines the pocket openings as well. Features a zip fly with branded “R” zip, vegetable ivory waist and rear buttons, “R” label embroidered on the rear right pocket, and woven indigo dyed tag on the interior.
As you may know, 45 rpm is always produced in limited quantities and only available at their stores. Retail is typically very expensive, where these pants were about $350 in Japan alone, and were even more abroad if you could find them.
Size is labeled a 34 and fits a bit slim in the waist, more like a 33. Overall fit is a straight leg, just slightly slim. These aren’t baggy at all, good for integration with a variety of styles. I measure the waist at 33”, inseam at 29” with another 2.5” in the hem that can be let out, rise at 11” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 7.5”. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
