45 rpm indigo dyed double layer button down shirt, size 5 (L)

$39.99 Sold out

Up for sale here is a shirt from the 45 rpm label. 45 rpm is perhaps best known for their high quality materials, attention to detail, and of course their indigo products. Production is always in small batches, and their pieces are only available direct from their shops. Aside from their excellent and longstanding use of indigo, 45 rpm is one of those labels that uses fabrics like no other. All of their textiles are custom, and the level of detail is hard to beat.

This shirt is a great example of what 45 rpm is capable of, coming in an excellent indigo-dyed double-layered material. The external layer is a cotton gauze, while the internal layer is a striped fabric. Both fabrics are pretty light weight on their own, although the combination of fabrics makes this more of a medium weight piece in my opinion.

Indigo is a medium shade of blue with some visible fading throughout. The natural indigo 45 rpm uses gives the shirt a pleasantly uneven color, one that will gradually fade according to how it is worn. That’s part of the fun of these kinds of indigo pieces, seeing how they evolve.

Other details here include vegetable ivory buttons, embroidered neck tag (also indigo dyed), and a nicely asymmetric chest pocket with the “R” logo embroidered in light blue. As always, there is a lot going on here and quality is really strong. These shirts don’t come cheap at all at retail if you can even find them. Get it here while you can.

Size is labeled a 5 and fits a large well. I measure the chest at 22.5” / 57cm, shoulders at 20” / 50cm, length at 30” / 77cm from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 24” / 60cm from the shoulder. The shirt comes in generally good shape with a bit of fading as noted, most visible on the elbows. There is also a small abrasion on the right shoulder. Otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
