Up for sale here is a knit shirt from 45 rpm’s main line. As usual with 45 rpm, this shirt is classic in the best sense with a deceptively simple design. It’s straightforward enough to go with pretty much everything, yet at the same time the materials and quality are excellent, something 45 rpm clearly excels at.
One of the more interesting details here for me is the fabric. It’s a sort of textured knit cotton material. It’s not indigo or denim, but it is pleasantly uneven and quite breathable. Material is medium weight in my opinion, but a loose enough gauge to keep it pretty breathable, making it ideal for the warmer seasons when worn on its own, or layered under a sweater or jacket in the colder months. Then of course you have the henley button detail, giving you some flexibility in how to wear the shirt.
Details include contrasting black fabric on the button placket, cuffs and the shoulder interior. Buttons are fabric-covered. 45 rpm’s signature embroidered “R” logo is on the bottom-left side, and another R logo is embroidered on the neck tag. 45 rpm never comes cheap, and these shirts retail at about $200 in Japan alone. 45 rpm of course are very selective about their distribution, only selling from their own shops in Japan, their handful of shops abroad, and a very select few international distributors. Get a classic piece here at a very reasonable price.
Size is labeled a 5. 45 rpm is sometimes inconsistent in their sizing, but I would say this fits a standard large. There is some stretch to the fabric given the looser weave, but I measure the chest at 21”, shoulders at 22”, length at 29” and sleeves at 23” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, excellent shape with no holes, tears, stains or obvious signs of wear.
