Up for sale here is a pair of pants from the Agnes B label. Agnes B has been going strong in France since the mid 1970s, with its namesake designer still very much involved in the design. Agnes B has since made a name for herself in the art world as well, operating some very influential galleries, a production company and various other enterprises. Still, the clothes are definitely one of her strengths, infusing a strong workwear element and wearability into modern French design. Her label is one of those holdouts that still manufactures mostly in France (although it appears they’re manufacturing more abroad these days). The designs are timeless, effortless in that uniquely French way, and made to last. I sort of liken her to a French Yohji Yamamoto – she’s been around all along, producing consistently high quality stuff.
So what we have here is a classic pair of black pants, done in corduroy fabric. Corduroy is naturally heavier and harder-wearing than a standard cotton, and should serve you well in the colder months. Material here is a 98% cotton, 2% polyurethane blend. The poly addition gives the fabric just a bit of stretch and ensuring maximum comfort. Design is pretty straightforward, with the fit being right in the middle between slim and baggy. This is intended to work across the widest possible range of outfits – it will go with pretty much everything casual or formal, and design is timeless. Features a zip fly, custom rear leather patch, and logo tag on the left side.
Size is labeled a 42, fitting a standard 34 well. I measure the waist at 34”, inseam at 31”, rise at 10.5”, and opening at the bottom of the leg at 7.5”. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
