Bru Na Boinne wool herringbone winter coat, size 1 (fits M)

$64.99

For sale here is a coat from the Bru Na Boinne label operating out of Japan. Bru Na Boinne is another one of those smaller Japanese labels with limited international distribution. They specialize in high quality, vintage inspired design, differentiating themselves with a relaxed aesthetic and often incorporating a healthy dose of indigo.

What we have here is a top quality coat, both in terms materials and design. It is an overcoat silhouette, where the exterior comes in a 100% wool woven herringbone pattern. The coat is also insulated in polyester, making this an excellent winter weight shell. It is insulating, yet at the same time not especially heavy which is nice. Interior is fully lined in cupro, with a sort of tropical printed fabric on the body, while the sleeves are done in a burgundy. The same shade of burgundy is used to line the interior button placket, as well as under the collar of the coat. One of my favorite details with the coat are the lines of stitching throughout the exterior, where you have extra stitching around the front pockets, on the sleeves, and on the back of the coat. While the fabrics and detailing are already excellent, the stitching really sets this piece apart. It is definitely not something you will find anywhere else.

This is an excellent piece, easily rivaling any of the top labels going with its highly creative, functional design combined with top quality execution. Bru Na Boinne is one of those labels that tends to fly under the radar, especially outside of Japan, but have a strong cult following. These coats retail at about $800 in Japan but get it here much more reasonably.

Size is labeled a 1 but fits relaxed, more like a medium. I measure the chest at 21” / 54cm, shoulders at 17” / 43cm, length at 33” / 85cm and sleeves at 25.5” / 65cm from the shoulder. The coat comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $32.
