Up for sale here is a classic piece from Comme des Garcons, this one from their Homme line. Comme des Garcons is one of the original and most influential Japanese avant-garde labels, dating back to the 1970s. At this point they have established a universe of labels, including Homme Plus, Junya Watanabe, Play, Evergreen, Black, Shirt, and quite a few more. Each has their own particular emphasis, where the Homme line is also designed by Junya Watanabe and tends to take a similar patchwork approach to their designs.
What we have here is CDG’s take on the classic cardigan, filtered through their unique aesthetic. Fabric is 100% cotton, coming in a military green in a medium weight. The twist comes in a more relaxed fit for one, and also the incorporation of four large military style pockets in nylon. There are two large nylon pockets on the front, and two more which wrap around to the back of the sweater. Your storage needs should be easily met with all these pockets.
As noted on the tag, this particular sweater comes from the 2021 collection and retailed for about $400 in Japan alone. Like most Comme des Garcons, availability outside of Japan was extremely limited and the retail price was almost double. This model is now completely sold out as well.
Size is labeled a medium and fits relaxed. It can easily work for a standard large as well. I measure the chest 22”, shoulders at 18”, length at 27” from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The sweater comes in lightly used, excellent shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
