Dry Bones jeans DP-339 moleskin chino pants, size 32

$39.99

Up for sale here are a pair of pants from Dry Bones. Like a number of other Japanese “American casual” brands out there, Dry Bones is strongly influenced by traditional American work and sportswear. Also like a lot of these brands, Dry Bones pays crazy attention to both quality and detailing, and likewise puts their own unique stamp on these kinds of vintage-inspired pieces. In Dry Bones’ case, that unique stamp is twofold: for one, they’re much more likely to incorporate traditional Japanese imagery and techniques into their clothes than some of the other brands out there. The other is that the brand is pretty heavily rock-n-roll inspired. In Japan they’re known primarily as a rockabilly brand, sort of the same way that Iron Heart is known as a bikers’ brand: they certainly have that clientele, but can easily appeal outside of those circles as well.

So what you have here is a pair of pants in a brown cotton moleskin. Moleskin is a densely-woven cotton, heavier in weight than your typical cotton chinos and thus stronger and more robust. It is a traditional work wear fabric, ideal because it is naturally wind and water resistant and made to take a beating. This is a straight leg fit, just a hair slim, but timeless in design and execution. It will go with basically everything and serve you well for years to come. Details include a button fly with branded buttons, matching brown pockets, hologram rear label and black Dry Bones tab on the rear right pocket.

This model is now sold out from Dry Bones. Japanese retail was about $200. This would have cost around $350 outside of Japan if you could find it, although Dry Bones has extremely limited distribution abroad (or even in Japan for that matter). You definitely won’t find this at a better price. Get it here while you can.

Size is labeled a 32 and fits true. I measure the waist at 32”, inseam at 29”, rise at 9” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 8”. The pants come in good shape with no holes, tears, or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
