Engineered Garments pants for sale here. Engineered Garments, designed by Daiki Suzuki and under the umbrella of Japanese company Nepenthes, manufactures their products exclusively in the United States, and almost entirely in New York City. Part of their design ethos is utilize some of the high quality materials and services available in the city and keep their factories going. One of their other main ideals is to update classic workwear pieces with a more modern approach. That’s often manifested in high quality materials, and sometimes more fashion-forward designs as well.

Here we have EG’s take on the classic denim jeans. This is a standard weight of denim, around 10 to 12 oz or so would be my guess, indigo dyed a nice shade of blue. All the hallmarks of classic denim are present, with a five pocket formation and zipped fly. EG have added a number of subtle details as well, including branded buttons and rivets throughout, waistband, seat lining and pockets in a black cotton canvas, rear pockets partially reinforced on the interior, as well as the usual array of Engineered Garments tags on the inside. EG produces a pretty wide range of clothing, although it is actually somewhat rare for them to produce a straightforward pair of denim jeans. Additionally, as you can see from the tags this is from one of the more recent EG collections. Engineered Garments never come cheap, but you know their quality is nothing to scoff at. Get these at a fraction of the retail price.

Size is labeled a 32 and fits loose in the waist, more like a 34. I measure the waist at 34”, inseam at 25”, rise at 12” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 7.5”. This is a straight leg fit, with a bit of a taper toward the ankles. While the inseam is a bit short, note that the longer rise should add a good inch or two to the length. They have been hemmed, and you can note the stitching on the cuffs. The pants come in used but good shape. There is a bit of fading to the fabric, but otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in USA.
