Up for sale here is a linen jacket from French label Hervier Productions. Hervier are pretty unique in that they’re a French heritage label producing exclusively in France. There are a handful of similar French labels including Laboureur, Orcival, Danton and the like. Hervier definitely fits in with all of these, although their designs seem to steer just a bit toward something more modern at the same time. In Hervier’s case they run a factory in central France, where Hervier Productions is house label (and active since 2011). They are also known for doing some interesting collaborations, often with Japanese labels. Probably best known is their work with Junya Watanabe and the Anatomica label’s made in France line.
Here we have a particularly interesting fabric. Material is 100% linen, produced by the Jules Tournier textile mill in France specifically for Hervier. This is a very high quality linen, given a garment dye treatment. Linen is naturally light weight, breathable and resilient. It is considered an ideal summer material. This linen is not as wrinkly as a lower quality linen might be, and it is lined in cotton which gives it extra structure. Silhouette follows the classic two button blazer pretty closely, although the cuff is a bit of departure and made to allow it to be easily rolled up.
Size is labeled a 2, corresponding to a standard medium. I measure the chest at 21”, shoulders at 18”, length at 31” in front and 27” in back, and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains and minimal wear. Made in France.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
