For sale here is a pair of pants from Junya Watanabe, a part of the Comme Des Garcons family of labels. These pants come from the “Eye” sub-label within Junya Watanabe’s line, from the spring-summer 2011 collection. The Eye line started in 2005 and represents a less extreme, military-inspired and more easily matched Watanabe collection, although quality and prices are the same as the main line.
These pants are Watanabe’s take on the classic military khakis. Exterior has not been changed too drastically, where we have a somewhat light weight khaki cotton as the main material. Material is highly textured which is characteristic of Japanese labels. The silhouette has been kept a bit loose here, with a straight leg fit. Details include an exterior coin pocket on the front, zip fly, and vegetable ivory buttons on the waistband and left rear pocket.The Junya Watanabe line, like pretty much all of the Comme Des Garcons universe, never comes cheap. These pants retailed in the $500 range outside of Japan and are now long gone.
Size is labeled a small and fits a 32” waist. I measure the waist at 32”, inseam at 27.5” (unaltered), rise at 12” and leg opening at 8.75”. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
