Post Overalls cotton safari jacket, made in USA, size M (fits L)

$49.99 / Sold Out

Available here is a jacket from Post Overalls. Post Overalls is one of the longer-running Japanese-American hybrid brands. That is, Post Overalls has a Japanese designer, Tsuyoshi Obuchi, but are based in the United States and mainly produce their clothing in the US (and also Japan). There are increasingly more such designers, including engineered garments, yuketen, and battenwear, to name a few. Inspiration is firmly in classic Americana and vintage work, sports and military wear, done in their own particular aesthetic.

This is Post Overalls’ take on the military safari jacket, a warm weather piece intended for maximum functionality. Post have relaxed the fit and changed some of the colors and details. Material is still a pretty light weight cotton and best for the warmer seasons. Color is also more relaxed, where these are usually a shade of military green. Post have opted for a sort of washed out gray-green shade here instead, although there are some nicely contrasting elbow reinforcements and a pen slot on the front in a military green cotton ripstop fabric. Other details include buttoned pockets on the sides and chest, all with expansion gussets and able to carry a fair amount of stuff. Cuffs and waist on the rear are buttoned as well, allowing for some flexibility in how you can wear the jacket. Buttons are tonal throughout, with a storm gusset on the front covering them.

Post Overalls is one of those labels that gives a great amount of consideration to all aspects of their clothing, manufacturing at a very high level of quality and making some vintage inspired yet totally unique designs. This model is now sold out, but get it here at a fraction of the retail price.

Size is labeled a medium but fits relaxed, more like a large or even an XL. I measure the chest at 24”, shoulders at 20”, length at 29” and sleeves at 24” from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in the USA.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
