For sale here is a sweater from the SNS Herning label, a Scandinavian heritage brand with a long history that has recently been enjoying a bit of a resurgence and more exposure outside of Northern Europe. As you might expect given their provenance, they make some serious knitwear. Knit wools are their specialty, although they also produce some very high quality cotton pieces as well. Everything is very comfortable and with a modern fit. It’s that sort of effortless Scandinavian cool which is at the same time highly functional.
This is one of SNS Herning’s winter weight woolen knits, given a bit more character than some of their other designs in the sense that you have some crazy texture in the weave. The fabric is a solid gray wool, with a sort of waffle pattern knit into the design. The sweater is made entirely of virgin wool, distinct from a standard wool in that virgin wool is the batch of wool obtained from the first shearing of a sheep. It is reportedly softer and finer than a standard wool, highly water resistant and naturally insulating. The sweater comes in a high gauge, reinforcing its insulating properties. These sweaters retail around $200. Get it here in excellent shape for a fraction of the original cost.
Size is labeled a medium and fits true if a bit slim. There is some stretch to the material, but unstretched I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 18”, length at 25” and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The sweater comes in lightly used, excellent shape with no holes, tears or stains. Knitted in Denmark.
