Spellbound jeans indigo dyed denim selvedge chambray shirt, size 2 (fits S/M)

$34.99

For sale here is an indigo dyed chambray shirt from the Spellbound label, another in a long line of Japanese “American casual” labels. That is, Spellbound is strongly influenced by classic American workwear, although they tend to release their interpretations of workwear staples rather than simple re-hashes. As always with these types of labels, production runs are very small, with limited distribution even in Japan. Availability outside of Japan is even tougher, where only a handful of boutiques stock them. Quality, however, is quite high. These are definitely painstakingly-made garments, done to a very high standard.

And that’s very much what you have here too. This is a very high quality shirt, done in the vintage style. Material is an indigo dyed chambray fabric, somewhat light weight. As always with these kinds of indigo products, this will continue to pleasantly fade with wear.

Lots of details here as well. Construction is very solid throughout, with double and triple needle chain stitching used. Selvedge lines are visible on the shirt interior and cuffs. Like many of the best Japanese work wear labels, Spellbound makes their products tough and built to last, this shirt being no exception. Retail on this shirt was about $250 outside of Japan if you could find it, although it is now long gone. Get it here while you can at a fraction of the retail.

Size is labeled a 2 and fits is between a small and a medium in my opinion, like a somewhat loose small or a slim medium. I measure the chest at 19”, shoulders at 17” length at 26” from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape, with no holes, tears or stains. I should note that with this model the logo was originally stamped in the neck area, but it has since worn off. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
