For sale here is a shirt from Japan’s Studio d’Artisan label. SDA is one of the original “Osaka 5”, dating back to the late 1970s and holding a very strong influence over the Japanese denim/workwear industry. SDA was one of the first to actually manufacture jeans in Japan, were one of the first labels to put Japanese denim and workwear on the map, and they’ve consistently kept their quality and designs very high since.
In addition to jeans, SDA produces a full range of clothing including jackets, sweaters and tees as you can see here. They often parody well-known graphics, usually incorporating their pig mascot. They have a whole series of tees reinterpreting classic Beatles artwork, for example, and they have also done some Godzilla and Ultraman-inspired prints. This one seems to be an original print with their pig mascot and some interesting use of English. If you are like me and really enjoy these kinds of nonsensical Japanese prints, this is a great piece for you. Aside from the print, this is a quality tee as you would expect from SDA.
Size is labeled a large and fits more like a standard medium in my opinion. I measure the chest at 20” / 51cm, shoulders at 18” / 46cm, length at 25” / 64cm and sleeves at 23.5” / 60cm from the shoulder. The shirt comes in used, generally good shape. There is some general use throughout, as well as a small hole on the front and the back (both pictured). These shirts are made with aging in mind and will continue to look good even after a lot more use. Made in Japan. Get it here at the cheapest price around.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
