Studio d’Artisan indigo dyed “Japan” t-shirt, size L (fits M)

$39.99

For sale here is a t-shirt from Japan’s Studio d’Artisan label. SDA is one of the original “Osaka 5”, dating back to the late 1970s and holding a very strong influence over the Japanese denim/workwear industry. SDA was one of the first to actually manufacture jeans in Japan, were one of the first labels to put Japanese denim and workwear on the map, and they’ve consistently kept their quality and designs very high since.

In addition to jeans, SDA produces a full range of clothing including jackets, shirts and tees as you can see here. Their t-shirts often parody well-known graphics, usually incorporating their pig mascot. This shirt references classic Japanese imagery, with Mount Fuji and cherry blossom leaves, and features their signature pig mascot as well. The bottom also has a “Japan” logo.

Aside from the print, this is a quality tee as you would expect from SDA. Weight is pretty standard, coming in an indigo dyed blue. There is a minor bit of fading already, and the material should continue to pleasantly fade with wear. Fabric for the tee is made in the US, while the shirt was assembled in Japan. Retail was about $100 in Japan, although this model is now completely sold out. Get it here at the cheapest you will find it around.

Size is labeled a large and fits more like a standard medium in my opinion. I measure the chest at 20” / 51cm, shoulders approx. 18” / 46cm and length at 26” / 66cm. The shirt comes lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
