For sale here is a knit cotton sweater from Undercover. This one comes from the fall-winter 2012 “psycho color” collection, where as the name implies they went for some bold color choices. Undercover is perhaps best known for their high quality designs, combined with a very strong graphic sensibility and punk rock ethos. This sweater is a great example of Undercover’s strong graphic sense and high quality design.
The material here is a knit cotton in a solid blue. Knit is highly textured, making for a nicely insulating piece in spite of being cotton. There is a crew neck along with two buttoned pockets on the sides. As an extra little detail, the two buttons are intentionally slightly different and mismatched. Design inspiration seems to come here from vintage 1960s knitwear, filtered with Undercover’s nice little twists. Other extemporaneous details are minimized here, although you’ve definitely got a quality knit and the excellent tailoring Undercover is also well regarded for. These sweaters retailed at around $400 in Japan. They’re now long gone as well, but get it here at a fraction of the retail.
Size is labeled a 2 and fits a medium. I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 17”, length at 24” and sleeves at 23”. The sweater comes in lightly used, generally good shape. There is some minor wear all around, most visible on the neck and there is a small, barely noticeable stain near the right pocket (pictured). Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $26.
