Undercover ‘the Shepherd’ Jun Takahashi solid black tee, size 3 (M/L)

$34.99

For sale here is a shirt from Undercover’s “the shepherd” sub-label. Undercover has been active since 1990, proving to be highly influential in Japanese fashion. They were one of the first labels to bring in a strong punk rock influence to their clothing, and have consistently made some truly excellent clothing that is well worth checking out. The Shepherd label started in 2016 as a premium line – production is in very small quantities with limited availability and sky-high retail prices. The idea, I believe, is to produce top quality basics.

This shirt comes from the first Shepherd collection in 2016. It is essentially a solid black long sleeve shirt, although again the materials are excellent and tailoring is sharp as you would except from Undercover. It is nothing earth shattering but it is understated, very well thought out and excellent quality. Details include a sort of oddly-shaped chest pocket, embroidered sheep logo on the left sleeve, logo printed on the bottom left of the shirt, and additional logos on the neckline interior.

Retail on these shirts is about $250 in Japan, which is very expensive for a solid tee, and this would have run even more abroad if you could find it. This model is now completely sold out as well. More recent Shepherd pieces have a much looser, more relaxed silhouette. This one fits more straight. If you are not a fan of the more recent oversized fits, this is the perfect choice.

Size is labeled a 3 and fits between a medium and a large in my opinion, like a somewhat loose medium or a slim large. I measure the chest at 21”, shoulders at 17.5”, length at 26” and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in used but good condition. There is some minor wear and fading all around, but no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
