Japan Blue jeans Momotaro JB3100 chino pants, size 34

$34.99

For sale here is a pair of pants from the Japan Blue jeans label. Japan Blue is one of the lines manufactured by Rampuya, the same company that does the Momotaro label. Both labels are very strongly jeans and indigo oriented, producing exclusively in the Kojima area of Japan, although the Momotaro label is probably more widely known and releases a fuller range. Japan Blue focuses mostly on jeans and denim jackets, but the same high quality production standards are still very much there, as are the really detailed and unique fabrics.

These pants are called “French stretch denim” pants. I guess the fit inspiration comes from French clothing? Not really sure, although the fit is similar to contemporary French labels like APC or Agnes B. Fabric is a navy denim, medium in weight, done in a 95% cotton, 5% polyurethane blend. Interior has some really nice heavy weight hickory stripe pockets, along with branded rivets and waistband button. There’s a nice custom leather patch on the back as well.

Construction is one of Rampuya’s strong points in my opinion, where they always build their piece super tough. All seams use tough chain stitching, and these pants should be able to take a beating pretty well. Silhouette is one of those “straight tapered” type fits, where the top half fits fairly straight, while the leg tapers down below the knees. With the poly blend the fabric has a reasonable amount of stretch, so these should be nice and comfortable.

Size is labeled a 34 and fits true. I measure the waist 34”, inseam at 26”, rise at 9” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 7”. The pants come in used, generally good shape. There is some visible fading throughout, although no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
