Up for sale here is a pair of pants from the Beams Plus label. Beams Plus is one of the several labels run by the Beams company, mainly a “select shop” operating out of Japan. Where Beams was previously more a shop for other brands, they’ve been getting increasingly into clothes production as well, with Beams Plus being one of their major offshoots. They run a number of other sub-labels such as Beams Heart, Beams Boy, International Gallery Beams, bpr Beams, Fennica, Beams Golf, etc. However, Beams Plus is perhaps their best known outside of Japan, and their only label (to my knowledge) to have distribution outside of Japan.
Beams Plus tends to steer pretty strongly toward vintage-inspired work and casual wear, producing at a very high level of quality. Designs are pretty timeless, where they avoid flashy colors and big logos, opting more for quality construction and fits. These pants are similarly classic in design, coming in a somewhat relaxed silhouette. The pleats on the front allow the fabric to open up a bit below the waist, then the pants taper again toward the ankles. This is a highwater design, with a somewhat shorter inseam, compensated a bit with a longer rise. These should hit at about ankle length depending on your height. Material is a 98% cotton / 2% polyurethane blend coming in a standard weight, the kind of pants that would work for fall-spring-summer wear.
Design is unobtrusive in that you can dress it up or down and pair it with a wide variety of clothing. Some subtle details are included, such as a chambray fabric lining the waistband, white cotton canvas pockets, buttoned coin pocket on the waistband, zip fly and subtle branding on the waistband button. The pants are also very well constructed with the interior seams trimmed in cotton. Design is timeless and these pants will only get better with age.
Size is labeled a medium and fits a 31 inch waist well. I measure the waist at 31” / 80cm, inseam at 24” / 62m, rise at 12” / 30cm and leg opening at 7.5” / 19cm. The pants come in lightly used condition with just a bit of fading and wear but no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
