Wacko Maria ‘Tim Roth’ cotton chino pants, size M (fits 31”)

$39.99

Available here is a pair of pants from Wacko Maria, one of the more up-and-coming Japanese streetwear brands. They were started by a former professional soccer player which is kind of interesting, and they tend to mine a pretty diverse range of influences: 60s and 70s prep styles, vintage mod and rude boy stuff, military and occasionally more out-there stuff too.

These pants are Wacko Maria’s ‘Tim Roth’ cotton chinos. Silhouette is based on classic navy chinos, slimmed down somewhat. The actor Tim Roth is clearly the inspiration here, where I think Wacko Maria was perhaps going for his outfit in Reservoir Dogs, as it is pretty iconic but at the same time can easily be worn in daily life. Fabric is 100% cotton with a button fly, waistband lining and cotton canvas pockets. Rear has a label tag on the right side, while there are a number of stamps on the interior. These stamps reference the model number, the label and there is even a star stamped inside.

Fit is a hair slim but not excessively so. What we have then is a pretty classic design, the sort of thing that is informed by vintage 60s wear, but updated in terms of fit and quality, and will go with pretty much everything. Retail was about $200 in Japan.

Size is labeled a medium and fits a 31” waist well. I measure the waist at 31”, inseam at 27” (unaltered), rise at 10.5” and leg opening at 7”. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or visible signs of wear. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
