Wacko Maria printed t-shirt, made in Japan, size M (fits slim)

$34.99

Available here is a t-shirt from Wacko Maria, one of the more up-and-coming Japanese streetwear brands. I guess they were started by a former professional soccer player which is kind of interesting, and they tend to mine a pretty diverse range of influences: 60s and 70s prep styles, vintage mod and rude boy stuff, military and occasionally more out-there stuff too. They’ve definitely got a sense of humor.

In this case we have a solid dark gray tee with a graphic print on the back. Front is mostly blank with the exception of at tag at the bottom, while the rear has a large “freedom sounds” graphic print. The rear graphic seems to be inspired by vintage Jamaican/reggae music, which has been an ongoing inspiration for the label. Fabric is an excellent, high quality cotton.

Like most Japanese brands these days, Wacko Maria never cut corners on quality, producing some really nice stuff. The shirt is well made as you might expect. Retail on these pieces is a pretty rough $120 outside of Japan, but get it here for much less.

Size is labeled a medium and fits true if a bit slim. I measure the chest at 19” / 49cm, shoulders at 18” / 46cm and length at 24” / 62cm. The shirt comes in lightly used, generally good shape. There are a few small discolorations on the front (pictured), but otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
