Up for sale here is a shirt from the Burgus Plus label, the house label of the Hinoya shop out of Ueno, Tokyo. Hinoya is well known as being one of the go-to places for denim in Tokyo. They stock many of the heavy hitters, and Burgus Plus themselves have collaborated with some of the big names like Warehouse and Oni among others. The Burgus Plus line, as you might expect, skews pretty strongly to the denim and workwear side of things, although they do produce a nice full range of clothing. Their pieces are always substantial and very well-made, easily rivaling the big names out there. Burgus is one of my favorite labels going right now, still largely under the radar, but easily putting out some top quality stuff.
This is Burgus Plus’ version of the classic button down shirt. As usual, they’ve done an excellent job, where they incorporate all of the details you would look for and then some. Material is a light weight 83% cotton, 17% polyester blend coming in a seersucker style fabric. Seersucker is a light weight fabric characterized by its puckered texture, making it wrinkle resistant and an ideal warm weather material. The fabric here has a nice striped pattern to it, along with a number of interesting details. Buttons are all vegetable ivory, nicely contrasting white single needle stitching is used throughout, there are side gussets, and the chest pocket is reinforced on both the interior and exterior. This model of shirt is no longer in production, and was rare even when released. Get it here while you can at a very reasonable price.
Size is labeled an XL and fits more like a standard large in my opinion. I measure the chest at 21” / 54cm, shoulders at 18.5” / 47cm, and length at 29” / 72cm. shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or visible signs of wear. Made in Japan.
