For sale here is a shirt from Japanese brand Tang tang. Tang tang are on the newer side of things, starting in 2011 and based in Tokyo. Tang tang have a somewhat limited range, where they are all about producing graphic and printed t-shirts. Their graphic sensibility is very unique and they have garnered a pretty strong cult following in Japan.
In this case we have a short sleeved tee in a solid black base. Front and back have a graphic print with a “now is now” slogan repeated. These kinds of repeating phrases in a large font are a hallmark for Tang tang and instantly recognizable for those in the know. There are a few more subtle details as well – the front has a small logo in gray on the left side, while the rear has an additional tag at the top.
Tang tang is one of those brands that fits in very well with Japan’s long history of streetwear and excellent, creative design. Quality is also excellent as you might expect. These pieces are pretty difficult to track down, especially outside of Japan, but get it here at the cheapest price around.
Size is labeled a large and fits true. I measure the chest at 21” / 53cm, shoulders at 19.5” / 49cm, and length at 27” / 69cm. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape. There is a minor bit of fading but no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
