For sale here is a jacket from the Italian CP Company label. For those not in the know, CP Company is a sister label of Stone Island. They were both founded by designer Massimo Osti and share some very similar DNA, particularly in fabric dyeing and experimentation. Stone Island tends to be the sportier, more youth-oriented line, while CP Company tends to be more refined and to target a more adult audience. That said, many of the silhouettes are very similar, the quality of both labels can be some of the best out there, and the designs and fabrics are always forward-thinking. Most CP Company pieces, even those going back 20 or 30 years, easily hold up today.
Here we have a more recent CP Company release, from 2020 I believe. This is their P.Ri.S.M. jacket as noted on the arm tag and is a really great example of CP Company’s forward-thinking fabric experimentation. Material is a 73% nylon, 27% polyester blend with a polyurethane resin. It is described as a prismatic ripstop in iridescent burgundy. Basically, this is a highly technical, proprietary fabric that was released in a limited range. It has a very unique sheen to it, where depending on how the light catches it the fabric will shine red. On top of that, given the membrane coating it is highly wind and water resistant yet at the same time breathable. This makes it a great shell piece, one that you can easily layer under in the cold weather. Being a ripstop weave, it is naturally resilient and able to take some punishment, and the garment dyeing is the icing on the cake, where the fabric has a pleasantly uneven coloring both inside and out.
Other details include a large zip closure down the front with a branded fabric pull. Left arm features the signature CP Company lens, along with a zipped compartment where you can put something in the sleeve and have it visible through the lens. There are two zipped side pockets hidden in the side seams. Cuffs are elasticated and waistband has adjusters to customized the fit. Interior has an additional pocket compartment.
In all this is one of those pieces that has all of the bells and whistles you would look for in a CP Company piece. Production was limited as you might expect and these jackets are now long gone. Get it here at the cheapest price around.
Size is labeled a 50 and fits between a medium and a large in my opinion, depending on how you like the fit. I measure the chest at 22”, shoulders at 19”, length at 27” in front and 28” in back, both from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, excellent shape with no holes, tears or stains. Original tags are still included as pictured. Made in Italy.
