For sale here is a pair of pants from the Jil Sander label. The Jil Sander label is probably best known for their extremely high quality yet minimal designs. They use some of the best materials out there and produce some of the highest quality of clothing imaginable, yet they do it in a way that never comes off as ostentatious or calls too much attention to itself. The brand is one of the more refined labels out there, with a clear aesthetic but surprisingly advanced and experimental in some of their tailoring techniques and fabrics. The label got a bit of a boost with a well-received collaboration with Uniqlo (designed by Jil Sander herself), and also when Raf Simons was at the helm.
These pants are a great example of the Jil Sander aesthetic: clean and tailored to perfection, but at the same time made or a unique fabric combination. Material here is 100% polyester and lined in cupro. Material is a solid gray in a fairly light weight. Combined with the lining these pants should work well for fall-winter-spring wear. Fabric is nicely textured, the sort of material that will maintain its shape very well and is highly resistant to wrinkling. Design is super clean, with the side pockets incorporated into the side seams and buttons hidden in the rear pockets. For me the pants reference retro-futuristic design, the sort of thing you might see in vintage science fiction movies about the future and an aesthetic that Jil Sander really specializes in. Retail on these is around $600 if you can believe it, but the quality is extremely high. Get a great pair of pants here for way less.
Size is labeled a 50 and fits loose, ideal for a 36” waist. I measure the waist at 36” / 94cm, inseam at 27” / 68cm, rise at 12” / 30cm and opening at the bottom of the leg at 7” / 18cm. The fit is classic yet just a bit slim with a slight taper toward the ankles. The pants come in used, generally good shape. There is some minor but visible wear throughout, including on the front of the right leg and rear pockets. It is nothing too major and should not affect wearability, but noted nonetheless. Made in Italy.
