Junya Watanabe man Comme des Garcons 2014 indigo jeans, size L (34)

$59.99 Sold out

Up for sale here is a pair of jeans from Junya Watanabe’s label, done as always as a part of the Comme des Garcons family. As you can see from the tag, this comes from 2014. I would guess the spring-summer collection, but I’m not 100% sure.

The Junya Watanabe label is perhaps best known for their reinterpretation of classic menswear, most often workwear, usually filtered through a patchwork aesthetic. Designs are often avant-garde and forward-thinking, as is typical with the Comme des Garcons family of labels, although there is also a very strong emphasis on tailoring as well.

These pants are a pretty straightforward iteration of the classic indigo dyed denim jeans. I suppose the idea here was to demonstrate the kind of high quality fabrics and construction the best of Japanese denim makers are capable of. The pants have all of the bells and whistles you would expect from top quality Japanese denim, including interior selvedge lines, substantial chainstitch construction throughout, chunky custom rear leather patch and branded waistband button. The fabric has already been given a vintage treatment, made to look nicely broken in, and will continue to nicely fade with use, developing its own unique characteristics.

Like all of the CDG family of brands, Junya Watanabe pieces never come cheap at retail and can be hard to track down. These pants are now completely sold out, although you can get them here at a fraction of the retail.

Size is labeled a large. I measure the waist at 34” / 86cm. I measure the inseam at 29” / 73cm, rise at 11” / 28cm and leg opening at 7.5” / 19cm. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or wear beyond their original condition. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
