Available here is a shirt from Japan’s Kapital label, a brand that produces a pretty wide range of clothing, going from traditional workwear inspired pieces to hippie chic to crazy indigo patchwork. Their quality is always excellent and they can definitely be creative in their designs and execution.
This is Kapital’s take on the classic tee. Material is Kapital’s highly textured woven cotton, processed to give it a vintage, worn-in look. Design is solid overall, with the incorporation of three embroidered flags on the chest pocket and the bottom left side of the tee. I believe this shirt comes from the spring-summer 2024 collection where they incorporated this flag motif across a number of different pieces.
While Kapital’s designs are often tongue in cheek, no corners are ever cut. Everything is built solid and made to last. Kapital also always produces in limited quantities, with pretty limited availability on many of their pieces outside of Japan. This is one of those very unique Kapital pieces that is now completely sold out. Get it here at the cheapest price around.
Size is labeled a medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 21” / 54cm, shoulders at 19.5” / 50cm, and length at 26” / 66cm. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Color is uneven on the shirt, although I am not sure if this is due to wear or vintage processing. Made in Japan.
