For sale here is a long sleeve shirt from Jun Takahashi’s Undercover. This model comes from 2014 fall-winter collection. The 2014aw collection was very strong, although their look books really don’t do the label justice. Where in the past undercover placed a lot of emphasis on their prints, this season really let the tailoring do most of the talking. The clothes kept a dark palette, but as always had excellent detailing and first class fits. It’s too bad that Jun continues to go pretty underrated, especially outside of Japan.
This shirt comes in a very soft, somewhat heavy weight cotton. It is not quite sweater weight material, but I would liken it to a cotton moleskin. It is on the thicker side but at the same time extremely comfortable, almost like a fleece. It should serve you well as a base or a mid layer.
Fit is somewhat relaxed, with a zipped chest pocket in nylon and two semi-hidden side pockets. Pattern is unique as well, with some unique construction around the shoulders, the pockets hidden in the side seams, and a center seam along the back.
Like most Undercover, these pieces were produced in limited quantities and especially hard to track down outside of Japan. Retail on all Undercover pieces is very expensive, where these shirts cost about $200 in Japan alone and even more abroad. They are now long gone as well, but get it here at the cheapest price around.
Size is labeled a 3 and fits between a medium and a large in my opinion, like a loose medium or a somewhat slim large. I measure the chest at 21”, shoulders at 20”, length at 28” from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
