Up for sale here is a button down shirt from Visvim, called the “granger shirt”. This one comes from the spring-summer 2015 season. If you are at all familiar with Visvim, you are likely aware of their obsession with quality materials and construction. They put a huge amount of effort into really all of their pieces, making sure they’re unique, well fitting, and above all of incredibly high quality. No expense is spared in making the best possible clothing, although their retail prices unfortunately reflect this as well.
This piece is similarly excellent. Material is a fairly light weight indigo dyed cotton chambray. The shirt was given a vintage processing treatment, making it look nicely broken in with some artful fading of the indigo. In addition to the excellent chambray, the big twist is the inclusion of a patchwork detail on the front and back. The additional patches are also a custom Visvim fabric, something they call “karako” with a hand-printed design. The patches are also hand sewn, as you can see on the detailed shots. Other details include vegetable ivory buttons throughout, as well as Visvim’s pull tag on the rear neckline.
This particular model was only available for the 15ss season and is now completely sold out. Retail was 45,360 yen in Japan (about $400) and would have retailed at about double abroad if you could find it. Get it here much more reasonably.
Size is labeled a 2, fitting a standard medium. I measure the chest at 20” / 51cm, shoulders at 16” / 41cm, length at 28” / 72cm from the base of the neck, and arms at 25” / 64cm from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or fading of the indigo beyond its original condition. Made in Japan. Note that the Visvim bag and tags are not included with this sale.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
