For sale here is a nice sweater from Visvim. The Visvim label is perhaps best known for their crazy fabrics (and also for their very high retail prices). There really aren’t many labels that go to the level that Visvim does when it comes to choosing their materials. Most fabrics are custom, often in custom dyes and washes as well, many of them highly exclusive (and very expensive as a result).
This sweater comes from the 2020 spring-summer collection, done as usual in a luxe fabric. Design is fairly simple on first glance, but the details are definitely there. Fabric is one of those high-end long staple cottons. This kind of cotton is harder wearing, where the longer staples make them equally breathable and more resilient. The sweater has been vintage processed, made to look pleasantly worn-in, and subject to Visvim’s “uneven dye” process. Fabric has a pleasantly uneven color with different shades of red throughout. The neck, cuffs and waistband also have some nice vintage-style distressing.
One of the big points here is the fit as well. This is Visvim’s “jumbo” fit. It is intended to fit a bit more loosely in the body compared to a standard sweater, with a dropped shoulder and somewhat longer body. It’s a pretty unique fit that plays a bit with the proportions. It is finished off with a hand-stitched square on the neck and Visvim’s most recent tag on the interior. These sweaters retail at about $730 outside of Japan if you can find them. This particular model was unique for the season and is now completely sold out. Get it here in very good shape and at a fraction of the retail.
Size is labeled a 3 and is intended to fit a large. As noted, this is Visvim’s jumbo fit and intended to have a relaxed fit. I measure the chest at 24” / 61cm, shoulders at 25” / 64 (this is a drop shoulder fit), length at 28” / 72cm and sleeves at 21” / 53cm (you can add an extra three to four inches to the sleeve length due to the drop shoulder) from the shoulder. The sweater comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, or stains. Made in Japan. Note the Visvim bag and tags are not included with this sale.
