Nexus vii 7 original fake cotton argyle sweater, made in Japan, size 50 (fits M/L)

$34.99

Available here is a sweater from Nexus VII. The Nexus VII label is another one of those cult Japanese streetwear brands with a long history and devoted following. They don’t advertise, keep willfully small, but at the same time are associated with a lot of quality manufacturing. Perhaps their best known association was with the Original Fake label, where the people responsible for Nexus VII designed the Original Fake collections along with artist Kaws.

Nexus VII has been going strong for quite a while now, always with interesting design, typically understated and with very limited availability. This sweater hits all of the notes you would hope for, with a unique fabric and some interesting little design details. Fabric is a woven cotton in a subtle black-on-black argyle pattern. That is basically a diamond shaped knit, usually done in different colors. The black-on-black aspect here gives the knit a very unique texture with the weave setting it apart when you look more closely. Details include a crew neck, Nexus VII tag on the right side of the sweater, ribbed cuffs and waistband, and an additional tag under the neck tag.

Nexus VII is one of those labels that likes to fly under the radar. They’ve been active since 2002 and are well worth looking into. Get a rare piece here at a fraction of the retail price.

Size is labeled a 50, fitting between a medium and a large in my opinion, like a somewhat loose medium or a somewhat slim large. I measure the chest at 21” / 54cm, shoulders at 18” / 46cm, length at 26” / 66cm and sleeves at 26” / 66cm from the shoulder. The sweater comes in lightly used, excellent shape, with no holes, tears, stains or visible signs of wear. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $26.
