Up for sale here is a t-shirt from 45 rpm. 45 rpm is perhaps best known for their high quality materials, attention to detail, and of course their indigo products. Production is always in small batches, and their pieces are only available direct from their shops. This shirt is a great example of what 45 rpm is capable of, coming in an excellent medium weight indigo-dyed short sleeved shirt. The natural indigo 45 rpm use gives the shirt a pleasantly uneven color, one that will continue to fade according to how it is worn. That’s part of the fun of these kinds of indigo pieces, seeing how they evolve.
Aside from the dye, the usual attention to detail is here. The left side at the bottom has the “R” logo embroidered in blue, washing and care instructions are printed on the interior, and there is a size tag on the interior as well. Logo is not actually printed but was prevented from being dyed in the indigo, a nice little feature. These shirts retail in the $200 range outside of Japan if you can find them. Get one here for a fraction of that.
Size is labeled a 3 and fits a standard medium. I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 19”, and length at 25”. The shirt has been used, with some fading of the indigo, but there’s plenty of life left here. There are no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
