APC France selvedge indigo dyed jeans, made in Japan, size 34 (fits 32”)

$39.99 / Sold Out

Available here is a pair of jeans from the APC label, a well-known French brand that produces some really high quality basics. They incorporate the classic French design aesthetics, going for excellent fits and quality above superfluous detailing. The result is an effortless cool. Something that fits well, looks good, but at the same time doesn’t call too much attention to itself.

APC has been around for a while, originally doing the vast majority of production exclusively in France. That has unfortunately been changing in recent years, where a lot of their production has been moving to developing countries with perhaps lower labor standards (although their quality is still pretty high). These jeans are from the earlier period of APC: cut is their “bootleg”, in fact no longer in production. The name implies a boot cut leg, where there is a bit of a flare toward the cuff, although as far as I can tell this is a completely straight leg fit. Being an older APC piece, this was produced in Japan. Japan is well known for their denim production, and the quality here is very good. Newer versions of APC jeans are usually done in Vietnam or Macau.

Not to discount the quality of their newer jeans, but this a classic indigo-dyed selvedge, in a cut that will go with pretty much everything and a weight that allows year-round wear. For a straightforward jean at a reasonable price, it’s hard to beat.

Size is labeled a 34, although it fits more like a 32. I measure the waist at 32” (actually something like 31.5”, so a slightly slim 32), inseam at 28”, rise at 11.5” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 9”. The pants come in used but good shape. There is some visible fading of the indigo, but if anything it enhances the look here. They’re nicely aged but of course with plenty of life left. There are no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
