Aspesi Italy stretch cotton moleskin work pants, size 46 (fits 32)

$39.99

Up for sale here is a pair of pants from the Aspesi label. Aspesi has a pretty long history in Italy, where they have been active since the 1960s. They are one of those labels that has made a name for themselves in creating unique and innovative fabrics, and were actually the brand responsible for making the down jacket more of an urban piece rather than something used for outdoor wear. They tend not to get a lot of attention outside of Europe and Japan, but again are one of those labels worth looking into.

These pants come in Aspesi’s “workwear trousers” silhouette. As the name implies it references classic workwear, although is still something a bit different. This is a fairly heavy cotton – a cotton moleskin actually. That is, moleskin is a densely-woven cotton that is naturally hard wearing. It is both wind and water resistant. Aspesi have taken it a bit further in adding a stretch element to the fabric. The material is 98% cotton, 2% polyurethane, giving the fabric just enough stretch to maintain maximum comfort.

Other details include tartan flannel pockets (a very nice addition), a coin pocket on the front and tool pocket on the rear, a unique rear rise and belt loop system on the back, and front zip fly. These pants retail at about 280 Euros, although go for more in Japan and the US if you can find them. Get it here much more reasonably.

Size is labeled a 46 and fits a 32 well. I measure the waist at 32”, inseam at 29”, rise at 11.5” and leg opening at 8.5”. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
