For sale here is a t-shirt from Buzz Rickson. Like a few Japanese labels out there, Buzz Rickson makes reproductions or close facsimiles of classic American military, work and sportswear. Where Buzz Rickson is a bit different, however, is their obsessive attention to detail for one, and their extremely high quality. When you think of Japanese repro brands, chances are you are thinking of Buzz Rickson.
What you have here is a woven loopwheeled tee, making this a bit more complicated than it might initially appear. Loopwheeling is a vintage construction technique where there are no side seams on the tee. The idea is that the lack of side seams will improve the fit for one, and also help the shirt to maintain its shape and durability since there aren’t any side seams to worry about. The shirt is finished off with a neck tag with a nice vintage style graphic, referencing the 5th US Air Force stationed in Tokyo. Chest has a cool Japanese-style graphic, while the left sleeve notes the 5th Air Force and its Tokyo location.
Size is labeled a large and fits somewhat slim, like a slim large or a somewhat loose medium. I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 19”, length at 26” and sleeves at 24” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
