Comme des Garcons Homme Deux 2016 wool cardigan, size L (fits M/L)

$54.99

Up for sale here is a cardigan from Comme Des Garcons’ Homme Deux line. Homme Deux is supposed to be the more formal side of Comme Des Garcons, loosely interpreting suiting and uniform wear and incorporating the signature CDG avant-garde aesthetic. Homme Deux has been operating in some capacity since 1987 and much like the Homme Plus line, is still overseen by label founder Rei Kawakubo.

This sweater comes from 2016, I believe the fall-winter collection. The main material is a knit wool in navy blue, not super heavy weight but definitely warm enough to provide a good mid or outer layer depending on the season. Silhouette follows the classic cardigan pretty closely with a five button front closure. The twist comes in the incorporation of a light blue and orange colorway on the front and going around the collar. It is enough of a pop of color to differentiate itself – it is smart but at the same time nothing that is going to be immediately shocking or polarizing. This should work equally well in a more formal or casual situation and can be easily integrated into a wide range of wardrobes.

Like all Homme Plus and Homme Deux pieces, this sweater did not come cheap at retail. Japanese retail was around $500, and you would be paying considerably more outside of Japan if you could find it. This particular design is now completely sold out, but get it here at a very reasonable price.

Size is labeled a large. The fit is a bit slim, where this could also work for a medium. There is a bit of stretch to the material, but unstretched I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 18”, length at 26”, and sleeves at 25.5” from the shoulder. The sweater comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
