Comme des Garcons Homme multicolor shirt, size M

$44.99

For sale here is a shirt the Comme des Garcons Homme collection. CDG is perhaps best known for their avant-garde aesthetic, always applying new and creative pieces and techniques to fashion. They’ve got quite the history, really opening the door for most Japanese labels (along with Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake of course, but perhaps to a lesser extent).

This shirt comes from the Homme collection, overseen by Junya Watanabe. For the Homme label, the emphasis is usually on simplicity, making relatively straightforward garments, always in a high quality execution, and usually with some kind of twist. In this case we have a standard weight cotton tee, ideal for the warmer seasons. The twist comes in the color blocking, where the front chest area is in white, while the collar and sleeves are gray. The back side also uses a different shade of gray, making for a nicely contrasting shirt that doesn’t hit you over the head with the details, but at the same time keeps it all fresh.

As always with CDG, these pieces were produced in limited quantities, and could be pretty hard to track down outside of Japan. This shirt retailed at around $200 Japan and were around $350 or so abroad if you could find them. They are of course available here much more reasonably.

Size is labeled a medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 18”, and length at 26”. The shirt comes in lightly used, generally good shape. There is some fading of the interior materials tag, and there are some small stains on the front, toward the bottom (see last pic for details). Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
