Frank Leder fabric indigo dyed linen shirt, made in Germany, size XS (fits S)

$34.99

For sale here is a shirt from the Frank Leder label. Frank Leder is one of the more interesting labels going these days, in that many of their textiles are vintage, most of their fabrics are heritage German or Austrian (and sometimes Belgian) textiles, and all of their production is exclusively in Germany. As a result, they have a pretty strong traditional German influence, mixed with a more modern sensibility and silhouettes.

Here we have a classic shirt silhouette done in a vintage linen fabric. Fabric is indigo dyed and naturally faded, with the wear intended and with a very nice character to it. Linen is an ideal summer weight fabric, very light in weight, highly breathable and cooling to the touch. Silhouette is pretty straightforward, letting the excellent fabric speak for itself for the most part. The main twist comes with the buttons, which are also fabric covered. Neck also has a hand-written tag, as well as the usual tags on the interior.

Because they typically use vintage fabrics, Frank Leder produces in very limited quantities. They have two dedicated shops, one in Germany and one in Austria, and are stocked pretty well in Japan. They are very much one of those labels worth checking out in more detail if at all possible. Retail on these shirts was about $300, but get it here at the cheapest price around.

Size is labeled an extra small, but fits more like a standard small. I measure the chest at 19”, shoulders at 16”, length at 27” in front and 30” in back, both from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 25.5” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, good shape with no holes, tears, or stains. There is some fading of the fabric, which is to be expected given its vintage nature, but otherwise no problems. Made in Germany.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
