Frank Leder the essence vintage fabric cotton jacket, made in Germany, size S

$49.99

For sale here is a cotton blazer from the Frank Leder label. Frank Leder is one of the more interesting labels going these days, in that many of their textiles are vintage, most of their fabrics are heritage German or Austrian (and sometimes Belgian) textiles, and all of their production is exclusively in Germany. As a result, they have a pretty strong traditional German influence, mixed with a more modern sensibility and silhouettes.

Here we have a blazer silhouette done in a vintage heavy cotton twill fabric. Fabric seems to reference 1960s and 70s design with a some kind of military inspiration behind it. The front portion of the jacket is also lined in a different vintage cotton in green. Silhouette has a nice twist to it, where the cuffs come together more like a shirt than a traditional jacket or blazer. Tailoring is super strong here, with some very cool vintage buttons added for good measure.

Because they typically use vintage fabrics, Frank Leder produces in very limited quantities. They have two dedicated shops, one in Germany and one in Austria, and are stocked pretty well in Japan. They are very much one of those labels worth checking out in more detail if at all possible. Retail on these pieces was about $400, but get it here at the cheapest price around.

Size is labeled a small and fits true. I measure the chest at 19.5”, shoulders at 17.5”, length at 29” from the base of the neck and sleeves at 24.5” from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, generally good shape. There is a small stain near the top button, completely invisible when worn. Otherwise no problems. Made in Germany.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $28.
