Hervier Productions junya watanabe made in France denim jeans, size 2 (31”)

$39.99

Up for sale here is a pair of jeans from French label Hervier Productions. Hervier are pretty unique in that they’re a French heritage label, still active, and still producing exclusively in France. There are a handful of similar French labels including Laboureur, Orcival, Danton and the like. Hervier definitely fits in with all of these, although their designs seem to steer just a bit toward something modern at the same time. They often manufacture for a number of other brands, but these jeans come under their own namesake label.

These are a pair of indigo dyed denim jeans from Hervier. Japanese denim rightfully gets a lot of attention as far as denim goes, but a number of countries in addition to Japan actually have a long history of working with denim. France is one of those countries, where they have a long history making denim and workwear products. Being French and not Japanese, these jeans have a different look and feel compared to the Japanese labels, and are ideal if you are looking for something a bit different. I would consider the weight to be around 10oz or so, making this a good year-round pair of pants.

Design is somewhat nondescript, but at the same time has the details just right to make it interesting and set it apart. You have a five pocket formation with rivets on the front pockets and a zip fly. This is a mostly straight leg fit, with just a bit of a taper toward the ankles. Hervier is also one of those labels that manufactures is pretty small quantities and can be pretty hard to track down in most cases. They’ve done a few high profile collaborations with the Junya Watanabe label, but their own pieces can be pretty rare.

Size is labeled a 2, corresponding to a 31” waist. I measure the waist at 31”, rise at 13”, inseam at 29” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 7”. The pants come in lightly used, good shape. There is some minor fading of the indigo and a bit of wear on the inside pockets. Otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in France.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
