For sale here is a polo shirt from Mister Freedom, done in collaboration as usual with Japanese label Sugar Cane. This model is called the chemise marina pique, done in white, and comes from their 2019ss “Yucatan” collection. This is meant to be an all-around go-to shirt, functional across a variety of situations and very much in line with the classic, quality aesthetic Mister Freedom goes for.
Of course, Mister Freedom detailing is always exceptional, with this shirt being a good case in point. Silhouette is based on classic 1950s-60s polo shirts, given the Mister Freedom twist. Fabric is a summer weight 100% cotton pique, milled in Japan. The fit pretty straightforward, but includes a ribbed knit underarm expansion gusset that allows for more flexibility in fit.
One interesting detail to note is the embroidery on the chest. It is pretty clever: the two flags are maritime signal flags, where the top one is international naval code for Mike, or the letter “M”, and the bottom one is Foxtrot, for “F”. This spells out MF, for Mister Freedom. Quite a bit of detail goes into both the fabrication and detailing of Mister Freedom, as you can hopefully see. Retail prices reflect this, where this shirt costs $160 from Mister Freedom.
Size is labeled a medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 20.5”, shoulders at 18”, and length at 25”. There is a small stain on the rear, in the center back area (see last pic), but otherwise good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in the USA.
