Rebuild by Needles nepenthes vintage fabric zip up sweater, size M

$54.99

Available here is a sweater from the Rebuild by Needles label, one of the Nepenthes family of brands that includes Engineered Garments, South 2 West 8, the Needles brand and likely a number of others. Nepenthes always keeps their designs rooted in vintage and workwear territory, although they also allow for a lot of exploration and exploration in their designs. Each of their various labels have their own particular focus, where the Rebuild by Needles label looks to repurpose vintage fabrics, making them into something new and unique.

What we have here is a sweater given the Rebuild treatment. Fabric is 50% cotton, 50% polyester, coming in a standard sweater weight. Color is dark black. The big twist comes in the application of two zippers on the front. Normally crewneck sweaters are pullovers, but in this case you can zip the sweater on and off. The second zip adds a nice asymmetrical detail to it and also allows you to play around with the fit. Waistband is also a bit different, where they have added a snap button. As you might expect with using vintage fabrics, no two pieces here are exactly alike.
These kinds of sweaters are not produced in very large quantities and do not come cheap at retail. Japanese retail on these sweaters is in the neighborhood of $300. This would have been more abroad if you could find it. Get it here in very good shape for a fraction of that.

Size is labeled a medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 21”, shoulders at 21”, length at 26” from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 23” from the shoulder. The sweater comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $26.
