Remi Relief vintage processed plaid western shirt, size M (fits S)

$34.99

For sale here is a shirt from the Remi Relief label. Remi Relief is a Japanese label, started in 2008, specializing in unique interpretations of American casual wear. They are a part of the “American casual” school of Japanese labels, and likewise put their own interpretation on classic Americana. In Remi Relief’s case, that means a lot of intentional wear and fading of their garments, making them already broken in and giving them a used effect. It is like vintage clothing that is not technically vintage.

In this case we have a western style snap button shirt in a knit plaid cotton. This is a medium weight shirt, very similar to a flannel. It is not quite an Iron Heart level ultra heavy flannel, but one suitable for wear most of the year. Fabric has a very detailed knit, the kind of pattern where when you look closely you can see all of the individual threads making up the weave. These kinds of intricate, highly textured weaves are a Japanese specialty and something you won’t find elsewhere. The shirt has additionally been given a very nice vintage processing where the color has been artfully and unevenly faded throughout. Other details include mother of pearl snap buttons throughout, side gussets with chainstitch runoff and dual buttoned chest pockets.

Size is labeled a medium, but like many Japanese labels fits slim. This is more appropriate for a standard small in my opinion. I measure the chest at 19”, shoulders at 17”, length at 26” in front and 27” in back, and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or visible signs of wear. Made in Japan.
