For sale here is a sweater from the SNS Herning label, a Scandinavian heritage brand with a long history that has recently been enjoying a bit of a resurgence and more exposure outside of Northern Europe. As you might expect given their provenance, they make some serious knitwear. Knit wools are their specialty, although they also produce some very high quality cotton pieces that are arguably even better than their wools. Everything is very comfortable and with a modern fit. It’s that sort of effortless Scandinavian cool which is at the same time highly functional.
As you can see on the interior tags, this sweater comes from the spring-summer 2015 collection in a 100% ELS cotton (“extra long staple” cotton, aka Pima cotton) knit. ELS cotton is a top-grade cotton, the same type that many luxury houses use for their tees and knitwear, or that you see labels like Visvim using when trying to step up the quality of their materials. Although this comes from a spring-summer collection, this is really a year-round piece, easily layered and easily integrated with pretty much everything. Weight is pretty standard for a knit cotton sweater. Fit is of the slim variety, basically their signature look.
Size is labeled a medium and fits true. There is a bit of a stretch, but unstretched I measure the chest at 19”, shoulders at 17”, length at 28” and sleeves at 29” from the shoulder. Arms are slim, where the sleeves are meant to bunch up some. The sweater comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or obvious signs of wear. Knit in Denmark.
