Thom Browne knit wool beanie cap, made in Ireland

$34.99

Up for sale here is a hat from famed designer Thom Browne. The label is already pretty well known for their fusing of traditional American design sensibilities, very heavily influenced by Brooks Brothers and the New England Ivy style in particular, and extremely high level quality and tailoring. They’re probably one of the top labels going right now. Materials and fit are consistently some of the best out there, of course retail unfortunately tends to reflect this as well. Here’s a chance at an excellent piece, available for a fraction of the retail.

This is Thom Browne’s take on the classic beanie, done in a cable knit 100% wool. It is a high quality wool, some kind of Donegal tweed or something like that, not an itchy fabric. The knit is definitely the selling point, where there are all kinds of flecks of color throughout, including reds and blues on the gray portion and oranges, blues and blacks on the red portion. The four red stripes are a part of the knit as well – these are red yarns knit into the pattern rather than a cheaper print. Design here allows you to wear the hat with the bottom folded up for a more trim look or unfolded if you want something a bit looser. Being wool, the fabric is nicely insulating and should cover your head well on colder days.

Size is unlabeled and should work for most head sizes. It is not especially loose, but does have some stretch as you would expect. I measure the width at 9” and height at 10” unfolded. The hat comes in lightly used, good shape. There is a slight bit of wear on the interior materials tag but otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in Ireland.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24. If you purchase the hat with something else there will be no additional shipping charge for it.
