Up for sale here is a jacket from the Visvim label, here in one of their signature fabrics. Visvim have always differentiated themselves with their crazy attention to both fabrics and hand-made detailing. Retail prices are unfortunately really expensive, but what you get is always something completely unique and some of the best quality out there.
This design is called the “airman” blazer, something they’ve released several iterations of. Fabrics have changed season to season, but this version comes from the fall-winter 2015 collection. Material is a long staple cotton, mixed with 20% linen and given Visvim’s “damaged” processing. The material has a pleasantly uneven feel, and the processing makes look at bit faded (intentionally), kind of like something you would see with a vintage piece. Interior is fully lined in an off-white cotton canvas fabric. It’s not a super heavy insulated blazer, but you can of course wear it on its own or under a coat as the weather demands.
There are a fair amount of other details included here as well. The neck area has a car-print fabric included with what appears to be hand-sewn detailing. This car print was unique to the season as well. Buttons are all quality vegetable ivory and are reinforced on the interior. You also have two side pockets and one chest pocket on the exterior, along with two interior pockets.
As you may be well aware, while Visvim produces some of the best quality stuff out there these days, they do not come cheap at retail. Japanese retail price was about $850, and this would have cost even more abroad if you could find it. Get it here not only much more reasonably, but for the cheapest price you will find it around, and in a pretty rare size to boot.
Size is labeled a 1 and between a small and a medium in my opinion, like a somewhat slim medium or a somewhat loose small. I measure the chest at 19.5”, shoulders at 16”, length at 27” at the base of the neck, and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or obvious signs of wear. Made in Japan. Note the Visvim bag and tags are not included with this sale.
