45 rpm indigo dyed coverall jacket, size 3 (fits M)

$49.99 Sold out

Up for sale here is an indigo coverall from Japanese label 45 rpm. 45 rpm is perhaps best known for their indigo products, of which they’re one of the really early adopters. The label has been around quite a while now, producing with a unique mix of vintage workwear and traditional Japanese techniques. Their use of indigo in particular is almost unparalleled. Others may imitate, but few come as close as 45 rpm.

So what we have here is a pretty interesting take on the classic overall. Fabric is an indigo dyed denim, around 8 to 10oz or so I would guess. Silhouette is pretty classic in design but where 45 rpm really comes into their own is in the detailing. There are all kinds of details included here. For one, buttons are all metal concho-style with a branded “R” logo. There are two exterior side pockets as well as two interior chest pockets, where the stitching from the interior pockets is visible on the outside. There is also the signature “R” logo embroidered on the chest pocket exterior. The side pockets also have a really cool paisley fabric that is visible from the inside. Stitching is also visible on the front placket making for a nice little contrast as well. This is a somewhat earlier 45 rpm piece, where these were produced in very limited quantities and are now long gone.

Size is labeled a 3, fitting a standard medium well. I measure the chest at 20.5” / 53cm, shoulders at 17.5” / 45cm, length at 30” / 77cm from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 24.5” / 63cm from the shoulder. The jacket comes in used, generally good shape with some wear. There is some fading throughout including some fading on the neckline, and there are some small stains here and there, most visible on the front placket (pictured). Made in Japan. Still, this is the sort of piece that is nicely broken in and is one of those jackets that looks even better with wear.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
