Up for sale here is a pair of pants from the A Vontade label. A Vontade has been active since around 2011, making them a somewhat newer label, although they are one of the brands that mines vintage work, sports and military wear as points of inspiration in developing their clothing. For A Vontade the emphasis is on everyday casual wear, the sort of things you can wear to work or around the house, nothing too formal. They design with longevity in mind, making pieces that are timeless in design and that will only get better with age.
Here we have a pair of pants that are heavily military inspired. Fabric is a 100% cotton ripstop in military green. Ripstop is basically a cotton woven in a grid pattern, where if there are any snags they are unable to rip the fabric further. Features two large bellows pockets on the sides, adjustable sizing on the waistband, cropped leg and a zip fly.
Like many of their contemporaries, A Vontade is a smaller label with very limited international distribution. So far they have flown largely under the radar outside of Japan but are well worth checking out in more detail. These pants retail at about $250 in Japan, but get it here much more reasonably.
Size is labeled a large and fits a 32 inch waist well. I measure the waist at 32” / 84cm, inseam at 23” / 59cm (these are cut intentionally high, something like 3/4 length), rise at 12 / 31cm and leg opening at 8.25” / 21cm. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
