For sale here is a button down shirt from the Bru Na Boinne label operating out of Japan. Bru Na Boinne is another one of those smaller Japanese labels with limited international distribution. They specialize in high quality, vintage inspired design, differentiating themselves with a relaxed aesthetic and often incorporating a healthy dose of indigo.
This shirt comes in a plaid pattern in 100% cotton. Weight is a standard shirt weight, neither too heavy nor too light. Tailoring and fabric are both excellent, although the main twist here comes with the graphics on the front. Bru Na Boinne take a pretty straightforward look and elevate it with some whimsical drawings and embroidery. You have an embroidered UFO and planets, an embroidered flower and some mushrooms. There are also some semi-embroidered animals, where different fabrics are sewn on with the thread outline creating the image of various animals, and there is a boy printed on the front with an embroidered sweater. It is a pretty cool and totally unique design, something you will not find elsewhere.
Bru Na Boinne is one of those labels that tends to fly under the radar, especially outside of Japan, but have a strong cult following. These shirts retail at about $300 in Japan but get it here much more reasonably.
Size is labeled a 0 but fits relaxed, more like a standard medium. I measure the chest at 21” / 53cm, shoulders at 17.5” / 45cm, length at 26.5” / 67cm in front and 27.5” / 70cm in back, and sleeves at 24” / 60cm from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape. Just one thing to note is a small stain on the front, just above the boy (pictured). Otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
